- Minor remodel of the house to prepare for the sale
- Bring the boat back from Mexico as our primary residence
- Move much of our personal stuff onto the boat for living aboard
- Hold a garage sale (pre-home sale) to get rid of 18 years of "stuff"
- Stage the house for sale
- Place the house for sale
- Start trimming down all the stuff we moved to the boat, yes, it was too much!
- Start the boat improvements that included:
- New electronics including several safety features
- Repair the steering system
- Repair the hydraulic system
- Repair the Air Conditioning system
- Install new filters for the engine
- Install a new ventilation system for the engine room
- Painting and rust removal - gotta love a steel boat!
- Repair and upgrade the grey water (shower water) system
- Repair the water maker, yes fresh water from the sea!
- Clean, paint and improve the lazerette, a fancy name for the storage area
- Remodeled our Saloon (living room)
- Added/replaced safety gear (life raft, EPIRB)
- Sold the house - Yeah!
- Had a second yard sale to sell all the furniture we used to stage the house
- Researched and ordered Adam's school books
- Changed our address again, this time to a service that will scan and e-deliver
- Twice had to "attempt" to haul the boat, one time we found the lift couldn't handle us!
- Made several "sea trials" to distant locations to test all of this stuff.
- Quit our jobs of 10 years each!
- Researched our trip, the areas we are visiting, got charts and info on everything we could find
- Reserved the marinas for the trip down plus our stay in La Paz.
- Arranged for Allie to visit us for Christmas break
Oh, and we have a month to go and we still have pages of stuff to do. Yikes!
